URGENT: All FAIRFM projects are in temporary suspended status.

We are currently amidst strategic, intensive rebuild, research, and development phases which will allow the FAIRFM project to continue into much bigger and better realms of being, in the near future. While we are currently “off-air”, we are still looking for interested artists, musicians, technicians, engineers, and volunteers to contribute, develop, and source upcoming projects. If you are interested in contributing radio shows, mixed tapes, music recordings, audio/sound art, or even trees falling in forests when no one is around, shoot us an email and some sounds and we’ll get you in the mix.

BUMP & RUN: A style that is most commonly used on traditional British-style courses, where fair ways may be be harder. With a bump and run one aims well short of the intended target and allows for substantial roll to his shot after its initial landing.

“BUMP & RUN 09″ is being held in conjunction with “Welcome to Bob” artists-in-residence at Spectrum Project Space.

So what is a free-range DJ, and what do I do? The idea is kind of like free-range chickens, the free-range DJ gets to ‘run around’ the radio show only constrained by the audio material you are provided with, i.e. your field, pasture or open air chicken coop! FAIR 87.9 FM gives you all the good sounds that are collected within earshot of the studio and your task is to mix down your own personalized radio show which will them be aired/webcast on FAIR 87.9 FM. For now, these will be pre-scheduled, pre-recorded webcasts/ broadcasts, i.e. not live, due to the developmental nature of the project. Oh, and these are volunteer positions, as we are a non-profit and we essentially don’t use money, hence free radio.

The Logic behind the project? Free-range is way better for you and the environment! Duh!
